How We Work
ONE CLEAR PATH TO MAKING YOUR ACHIEVEMENT OFFICIAL
Every Atlas World Record begins with our submission form.
Whether you have already completed your attempt, are planning something new, or are creating a record connected to an event, brand, organization, creator project, or community effort, Atlas starts by reviewing the details of your submission.
There is no cost to submit your record for initial review. Our team looks at the record concept, the proposed benchmark, the evidence available, who or what is involved, and how the record may need to be verified.
From there, Atlas recommends the certification pathway that fits your record.
Step 1: Submit Your Record
Tell us what you are attempting, who is involved, where and when the attempt happened or will happen, and what evidence or planning materials are available.
Step 2: Atlas Reviews the Submission
Our adjudication team evaluates whether the record appears certifiable under Atlas standards. We may review existing benchmarks, public records, prior world record archives, news reports, submitted evidence, and any relevant documentation.
Step 3: We Recommend the Right Pathway
After review, Atlas will recommend one of our certification pathways:
For completed attempts challenging an existing record, benchmark, or published standard. Challenger is best for straightforward evidence review after the attempt has already happened.
For new record titles, future attempts, rules guidance, benchmark research, evidence planning, and applicants who need help structuring the attempt before certification.
For independent creators, performers, artists, local businesses, grassroots events, smaller productions, community groups, and public-facing attempts that require more support than standard guidance. Because Independence covers a wide range of record attempts, it is offered in three levels: $750, $1,500, and $3,500. Atlas recommends the appropriate level after reviewing the scale of the attempt, the complexity of verification, the number of people or entities involved, the promotional value of the record, and the amount of support required. This allows smaller independent attempts to remain accessible while ensuring more complex public-facing records receive the structure, review, and adjudication support they need.
For brands, agencies, municipalities, institutions, media companies, major sponsors, corporate campaigns, large-scale public activations, and high-visibility records designed to generate press, civic visibility, audience growth, or promotional value.
For events where an Atlas adjudicator is needed on site to oversee evidence capture, support live verification, and help create an official certification moment.
Step 4: You Decide Whether to Move Forward
Once Atlas recommends the appropriate pathway, you decide whether to proceed. For higher-complexity records, Atlas may provide a custom payment link based on the scope of the attempt, the level of support required, and whether live adjudication is needed.
