About Atlas World Records
Who We Are
Atlas World Records is a modern, independent world record certification authority based in the United States. We certify extraordinary human achievements for individuals, brands, event organizers, and organizations across a wide range of disciplines — from individual athletic and endurance feats to large-scale brand activations and live events.
We were founded on a straightforward premise: the world has changed, and world record certification should reflect that. The tools, transparency, and speed that define modern professional life should define modern record certification too. Atlas was built from the ground up to deliver exactly that.
Our tagline says it simply: You achieve it. Atlas proves it.
The Problem With Legacy Record Organizations
For generations, a single organization dominated the concept of world records. Their printed books introduced millions of people to the idea that extraordinary human achievement could be documented and celebrated. That contribution to popular culture is real and worth acknowledging.
But the world those books were built for no longer exists.
Today, verification should be forensic. High-definition video, GPS tracking, biometric data, and global databases exist in the palms of our hands. Information moves instantly. Public scrutiny is immediate. And yet legacy record organizations still operate largely as they did decades ago — with opaque decision-making, rigid category structures that often diminish the cultural relevance of achievements, slow timelines measured in months, and pricing models that penalize brands for involving multiple partners.
The result is a system that increasingly fails the people it was built to serve.
Why Atlas Exists
Atlas World Records was created to be something better — not in opposition to history, but as an evolution of it.
We believe that when someone achieves something genuinely extraordinary, the organization certifying that achievement owes them three things: rigor, transparency, and respect for what they actually accomplished. Not a rigid category that doesn't fit. Not a months-long wait with no communication. Not a certificate that arrives with no explanation of how the decision was made.
Every Atlas certification is built around those three commitments.
How We Work
Every Atlas World Record begins with a free submission review. There is no cost to submit your record details, whether your attempt is already completed or still in planning. Our adjudication team evaluates whether the achievement is certifiable under Atlas standards and responds with clear next steps.
From there, the process is straightforward. Completed attempts move through evidence review. Attempts still in planning can be developed collaboratively through our Atlas Navigator service, which provides hands-on guidance on record design, evidence requirements, and documentation strategy before the attempt takes place.
Once verification is complete, certified records are formally registered, published in the public Atlas Archive, and permanently timestamped on an independent blockchain ledger — creating a tamper-resistant, cryptographically verifiable record of achievement that exists independently of Atlas itself.
Every certified record also includes a Transparent Adjudicator's Statement: a published document that details exactly what evidence was reviewed, what methodology was applied, and how the certification decision was reached. We show the work. Always.
What Makes Atlas Different
Transparency by default. Every certification decision is publicly documented. There are no closed-door decisions at Atlas. The Transparent Adjudicator's Statement that accompanies every certified record is available for anyone to read, question, and scrutinize. That's the point.
Built for the digital era. Atlas uses modern verification tools — including blockchain timestamping, digital forensics, and structured evidence protocols — that reflect how the world actually works in the 21st century. Our proprietary AtlasEngine™ system helps our adjudicators organize and analyze evidence efficiently while keeping human judgment at the center of every decision.
Open archives. We verify achievements against the global web, not a closed internal database. A record certified by Atlas is a genuine world record — not simply a record within one organization's private archive.
Flexible and culturally relevant. We honor the spirit of what record setters actually achieve rather than forcing achievements into outdated or diminishing categories. If your record is real, measurable, and meaningful, we work with you to document it accurately and title it in a way that reflects what you actually did.
Built for brands. Atlas is designed to support the real-world marketing and commercial goals of brands and event organizers. A single brand impact fee covers multi-brand integrations without incremental pricing per partner. Our review timelines are measured in days, not months. Communication is direct, professional, and responsive from first contact to final certification.
Who We Serve
Atlas certifies records for three primary audiences:
1. Individuals — Athletes, performers, hobbyists, and anyone pursuing a personal milestone or extraordinary achievement. From first-in-history moments to measurable performance records, Atlas provides a professional, rigorous path to official certification.
2. Brands and marketing teams — Organizations using world record attempts as marketing activations, live events, social media campaigns, or earned media moments. Atlas provides structured verification, on-site or virtual adjudication, real-time certification, and physical awards designed for stage presentation.
3. Event organizers and institutions — Large-scale events, tournaments, festivals, and organizations seeking credible, independent verification of records set within their programming.
Our Commitment
Atlas World Records exists to serve the people who achieve things — not to gatekeep achievement. We are not in the business of denying records for the sake of exclusivity or protecting a legacy brand. We are in the business of rigorous, transparent, independent verification that gives record holders and audiences genuine confidence in every result.
If you've done something extraordinary, we want to help you prove it.
